Alright, I just installed this on my PS3, joined the team, and I am churning out my first 300,000 point (or whatever they call it) WU, I should show up on the team in 6 hours or so when it is completed. :)

EDIT: Just wondering if anyone here knows if the Asus and AMD 3 year limited warranty on GPU's/CPU's covers overheating, if it does, then I will get the GPU and CPU client for my computer and put a GTX 570/6 core cpu to good use. :) I am assuming the CPU client is less risky with overheating, I skimmed over the last couple pages and saw more issues with GPU overheating than CPU?

Thanks for the contribution, Talon! Sorry I missed your earlier post...and it looks as if you haven't been Folding recently?

But yeah, overheating can be an issue. You'll have to look at the fine print regarding exclusions on your warranty. When I first started using the GPU client, it killed my video card (GTX 295) and I had to have it replaced under BFG's warranty. The new one churns out WU's without breaking a sweat, so either F@H optimized the GPU client, or the replacement vid card was better than the old one.

Yeah my warranty is just fine for this. :)

I switched teams since the 760 one was inactive... Its all a contribution anyway, I pump out GPU WU's in about 3 hours apiece. Never breaks much past 65C anyway even with my overclocking up to 900MHz core.

I have six unicellular clients, a PS3 client, and the Fermi GPU3 client all pumping out WU's, I can get up to 20 WU's out per day if I run it a lot, but I usually just let it run overnight and into the morning check off "stop after finishing current WU", and that tends to shoot out 15 WU's or so. I tried the SMP multi-processor beta client but was having some issues with retreiving work units, so I just ditched it and configured six one processor clients.

-Take care everyone,

Talon

Ok! Sounds like you got a killer Folding setup going!

BTW, it more about total points over work units as the WUs can be various sizes, so total WUs per day does not mean too much in terms of speed.

For the record, the 760 team was never really inactive...I stop during the hottest days of the summer for power savings, but otherwise I'm still churning out the points. My next milestones are 10,000 WUs and 4,000,000 points.

Cheers!

I'm running large WU's. ;)

Not 100% sure about my PPD, but I tend to get around 30,000 ppd give or take a couple. About half of that comes from the gpu client alone. Dang GTX 570 is a beast, especially when I overclock it. :P
