It is fun so far (the actual released beta), minus that I can only play one round before my CPU overheats. I might just build a new PC, but first I will try applying new thermal paste.

Is your CPU usage topping out at 100% when you play? Mine only hits 30 - 40%, might be time for you to get a new one, but try new paste first. :)

The Singleplayer of Crysis 2 is amazing, the Multiplayer is a bust. Thats all I have to say about it. :?

If you are looking for a new build, the i5 2500K is probably the best option.

I do have a new-ish MacBook Pro that has an i7, lots of RAM, and a decent graphics card... I upgraded a ton of things on purchase. It plays StarCraft 2 great and all the Valve shooters. I am thinking of trying to boot into Windows and play Crysis 2 on it.

My PC, on the other hand, is a bit old. It does have a quad core CPU and a GTX280. The whole system is about 4 years old (GPU is newer than that). At first it was my graphics card drivers that got corrupted and I fixed that... now the CPU overheats and the machine shuts off. On restart a message pops up saying that the CPU temperatures are too high. I am thinking it would be worth it to just change out the thermal paste. I am using the default heat sync that it came with. The fan seems to be fine. I may just buy a new heat sync and fan for the hell of it. If I can't get it working, I will just build a new one if I am too lazy to get Win7 as a dual boot on my MacBook Pro. For a laptop, its got some juice.

Dust that shit.

My PC is older than yours and still chugging along admirably, so no excuses! lol
