You can now get all Arma titles for half the normal price, for example Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead is less than $20. If you're not interested that's fine, but the game could be great coop fun! The offer expires today, probably at midnight GMT.

Here's the link to offer page: Arma 2 Thanksgiving Sale - Sprocket
Sprocket is Arma 2 developers' online store . They sell digital copies of games. You'll get a cd key and download link to the game installer. You can burn the installer file on dvd if you want to.

The game looks pretty cool, I tried the demo and I almost vomited... the view and movements are too realistic for me in this game... not sure why?

How many of you are playing it?

I might try it out with a torrent, but if lots of you are playing I can get it as a holiday gift.

Is Operation Arrowhead a standalone expansion of ArmA II or do you need both? Thanks.

Yeah its an FPS.

Its a military simulator, if you watch some videos you can get a pretty good idea of what it is. It has some insane processor requirements that I'm sure your system will love to eat up. :)

It is probably harder to max out than Crysis, however, I am playing on normal settings with a 3000 meter view distance (Max is 10 km) and it runs fine and still looks great on my aging PC.

My processor can barely run Black Ops...

I might give ArmA II a go, I have been thinking about getting it for a LONG time, I have always wanted a military simulator. :)

Yeah, but I wouldn't recommend downloading it illegally. The game's got a nice anti-piracy thing called fade. It gets activated if it detects your copy is illegal and fucjs up your gaming experience. Like guns get really inaccurate, enemies stand a huge amount of bullets and so on...

Try the demos to get an idea of how it will run. Demos haven't been patched up so real performance will be a little better. OA is standalone and doesn't require you to have original Arma 2.

The default amount of head bob is insane, but you can turn it down a bit. I've it almost off.

Intel Core Two Duo E6750 overclocked to 3.4Ghz
Asus P5n-E SLI
4GB DDR2 @ 1600Mhz

Im planning to upgrade from my small case to an Antec 1200, get Windows 7, and then I have my sights set on the i7 950 after I get a job and have financial freedom. Right now im strapped for cash, so the best I can do is get a new case to fit my future upgrade plans. ;)
